R. L. Rutsky (Ph.D., University of California, Los Angeles) teaches in the Cinema Department at San Francisco State University. He is the author of High Techne: Art and Technology from the Machine Aesthetic to the Posthuman (1999), and co-editor of Strategies for Theory: From Marx to Madonna (2003) and Consumption in an Age of Information (2005).
